Getting started at the Mooney Lab is easy. The first step is to download and watch this PowerPoint Presentation describing the capabilities of the Mooney Lab, and how to work in safely in the Lab. Next you’ll need to read the safety rules, and read and sign the user agreement. Finally, you need to take and pass the safety quiz. The best way to do all of this is to come in during the evening operating hours and work with one of the student technicians. Once you’ve taken the quiz and signed the user agreement, they will then add you as a Mooney Lab user. You’ll then be able to use the lab anytime during regular operating hours.
Training on equipment is available from student technicians during the evening hours. You can be trained on or request assistance with any of the equipment in the Mooney Lab. Hardware-specific training is required for the laser cutter, 3D printers, and drill press.
